Not really news but I finally have my business bank account sorted out so will be re-booting Steve Wilde Prints on April 6th. In the meantime I'm trying to learn as much as I can about budgets/tax/accounting/VAT and make some sort of social media promotion plan. Less boring, I've added a Playlist page with a list of what I have been listening to this year, so far, while painting or walking. Plus a link to the the playlist on Spotify.

Not exactly news, as I didn't really expect to, but I didn't get through the first stage of judging for this years Summer Exhibition. I submitted It's Already Too Late and It's Hard To Be Alone. I'm not sure that my photos were particularly good for submission purposes but it ended up being a bit last minute. These are better but they probably just didn't like them eh? I was consoled to find that Chloe Lamb [whose work I admire] has followed me on Instagram and liked some of my work. Thank you to The Nine gallery for taking the time to tell me about Jeremy Gardiner's work today. I'm really pleased with my catalogue but it's not the same as seeing the works in all their textural glory!
I will be pitching up at the Urban Art Fair, Brixton, for the first time this year. Saturday and Sunday, 6th and 7th July. Let's hope the sun shines. Come and say hello. At the moment I only intend to have photographs but I will be working on some prints in the intervening months and may bring some of those too. Watch this space.
I've added two new pages. You're reading one of them. The other is the Artworks page. This has my non-digital work on it. There are three acrylic paintings from an ongoing series [there are another 6 in progress] called Under The Weather. A couple of oil and cold wax medium pieces and some monoprinting experiments with my [relatively] new Gelli Plate.
I hope to add the rest of the paintings soon as well as some risograph and screen printing work. It's all a question of time! I have moved the shop from Shopify to Etsy in the hope that there will some natural traffic rather than me having to direct it all there via social media. If I ever get Instagram shopping running [thanks for nothing Facebook], that will be an outlet too. The Facebook shop is still there but now connected to Etsy instead.
There are only 10 items in the Etsy shop at the moment, due to the fact it's a bit long winded uploading everything and I have other things to do. There are only 8 of those items in Facebook though as they believe the Postcode Art [see below] to be an infringement of something or other. I suspect it is of Asteroids rather than the Royal Mail. It could have been that that was making me ineligible for Instagram shopping. We shall see if I get approved now. |
