RECENT WORKS

Since May 2024 I have been focusing on deconstructing and reconstructing the cube, aiming, eventually, to produce more three dimensional works. This has gradually come to embrace anything cuboid rather than shapes with six equal faces.

Deconstructs

A gradually forming collection of deconstructed cubes. These works are an expansion on the first studies I made in the Open Up and Six Degrees series reflecting on borders, belonging, conflict and confinement. places and non-places.

HMO's 2025/6

Expanding on the ten configurations that I started this project with I have used all eleven configurations of a deconstructed cube as the basis for these constructions, composed of pairs of cubes split into six parts. The HMO of the series refers to Housing of Mixed Occupancy; the cubes representing rooms divided into smaller spaces. It also got me thinking of the various uses a room can have over the years in a house. The front room of my parents house was my Grandad's bedroom until he died and later we would have family gatherings in the same room at Christmas etc. ​This is also progressing me to a more modular approach to constructing future artworks.

Other Three Dimensional Works

The sole purpose of deconstructing and reconstructing the cube was to lead myself to creating three dimensional works. While I have been working on 3D shapes that are reconstructed cubes I have yet to get them off paper and in the meantime I started producing works clustering cuboid forms.
