After four sales in the flurry of June exhibitions and a private sale earlier this month I had three consecutive rejections from Open Calls, which left me wondering where my next exhibition might be coming from over the Summer. But then I got notice that I could move my planned November solo show forward to August, got accepted for the Penwith Gallery Summer Exhibition and also  for the Royal West Academy Open in Bristol! So my Summer now looks like this...​

Associate Members Summer Show, Penwith Gallery, St. Ives. July 17th - August 15th
Secret Postcard Exhibition, The Poly, Falmouth. July 21st - 25th
Outside In: Solo Exhibition, St Ives Arts Club. August 1st - 7th
​Royal West Academy, Bristol. Sept 12th - Jan 3rd

Right now, I am working on new pieces for the solo show.

I am pleased to say I had my fourth sale of the year there. I haven't managed to register a sale at the Penwith Gallery Associate Members show this time round though, after ringing up two sales there earlier in the year. That show ends on May 2nd but I now have two paintings in the St Ives Society of Artists Spring Open [see below] until June 19th. If you are in West Cornwall or visiting this month pop in and see the shows.

The Penwith Gallery Associate Members show opened yesterday evening. I have the painting below in that. I'm hoping for a repeat of the two sales I had there in the last exhibition [at the very least]. I couldn't attend the opening as I was helping bottle beer at the Men-An-Tol brewhouse and Taproom!

The St. Ives Arts Club Easter Exhibition opens today, which I have two paintings in, as does the Penzance Studios Spring exhibition, which I have three works in. I'll be at the opening of this one between 4-7.00. It's in the Wharfside Shopping Centre and we have been turning the empty New Look into a gallery for the past week. Some works in progress shots below. This is the fourth empty unit we have taken over and exhibited in over the past couple of years, the previous three now have businesses back in them.

I'll be rushing a replacement piece there tomorrow morning for the final few days. The show closes on Saturday 21st and the gallery is open from 10-5.00 daily until then.
