These things are proving difficult to photograph. Can't quite capture the richness of the copper leaf. The technique has evolved a little over the course of these four paintings. This one has two cut out bits from the previously warped canvas stuck to it and I ran out of jesmonite so have been using filler, which is almost paintable with! Also, the colours are considerably darker tan the previous three. I've just started number five so lets see where that goes. I think I'll stop at six as I have some new ideas to incorporate rusty metal and possibly perspex into the next paintings.

That's the Summer Show over for this year and congratulations to Cherise Hewett for winning the people's vote and collecting the Colin Failes award. It was nice to be able to celebrate the event with a few drinks and say hello to everyone involved.
So... To move my news to the Ko-Fi blog or post everything twice or just link it here?
As the shop is over at Ko-Fi for the Urban Art Fair and the rest is likely to follow I suppose it makes sense to move the news to there too and link to it from here. https://ko-fi.com/post/Urban-Art-Brixton-In-The-Local-News-Q5Q455U7Z I've decided it's about time I set up a mailing list, which you can sign up for on the home page. I'm sure it will be a very sporadic affair to start with so it will hardly clutter your inbox. I didn't realise Ko-fi have a store facility as well, so I'm looking at that as a possible replacement for Etsy. I couldn't post anything without including an image. I'm very pleased with MNML09. It is a combination of an acrylic painting on paper and a monoprint, scanned, combined and re-coloured in Photoshop. Available as a one off whopping 36" square giclee print. There are smaller sizes available too. Look out for it at Urban Art Brixton this weekend
