Two very different directions from where both these started. Pretty much scrapping their original ideas. Tried adding a bit of printed matter [the type] to the bottom one before going back to how I was working when I started it. This is only acrylic though so the paper is on glued and varnished so I'm not sure how it will progress. The light on the top canvas makes it look a bit more impressive than it is at the moment but that's the effect I'm aiming for.
Noise, below benefited from me not mucking about with it for a day or two and the addition of more cold wax layers. And the very thick yellow acrylic strip. Still more to go though and two more canvases to start. two weeks to go.

I think this speedily evolving layers of acrylic is going to be Time rather than Space. This is three states that it has been through today while the other canvases wait for a layer of cold wax to dry. Loneliness has had an extreme makeover [below]. I said I didn't think I'd keep those spots!
This is the first layer of It's Hard To Be Lonely. had a few changes of mind colour wise while painting the circles so this may change considerably in the next layer and it may not end up being in landscape. I think this is going to be the first layer of Space but may end up being Time. Whatever it is, it made quite a mess.
Day three of Noise. Added a cold wax layer and scratched some text that I'm not happy with into it. And added some printed matter, which I'm also not sure about! The rust effect on the main text is looking better but I'm giving this a cuple of days rest before making any further decisions. As I have with Silence
Day 2. Not on the floor anymore. Too uncomfortable! Not much progress. A bit of sky has evolved and a couple of areas have changed colour. The rusty ghost sign isn't making the progress I'd hoped but it's better than the grey background. Think i'll need to do another layer of gold leaf over the strip I've done as it isn't great coverage under stronger light. Sigh! Lets see what Monday brings
Working on the floor on these two canvases. Not very comfy but it's the only way I can work on two 80" x 60" canvases at the same time. Only acrylic and gold leaf so far. I may add some cold wax/mixed media later. The intention is to do three pairs; Silence and Noise, Loneliness and Solitude and Time and Space, but I've just noticed I'd misread the Summer Exhibition deadline. It's 13th February NOT 23rd, so whether I get all three pairs done in time I don't know. I can only enter two at the most anyway, but it's nice to have a choice. This is only day one!
"Been topping up the acrylic supply. I think the next batch of canvases will be a mixture of acrylic areas, cold wax areas and mixed media. But, for a change, its all being worked out on paper first. Plus, bonus, I just found a dumped bookcase which I've lugged through the rain to the "studio, where it's now drying by the radiator. Should get some crap off the floor!
I may not have got a shot of the bloody wolf moon or whatever it's called but I did get a nice shot of the sun lurking behind a tree on Hampstead Heath last Thursday. More planning for the Summer Exhibition canvases today. Better get something started in case I end up getting any of the jobs I've applied for and don't have time to paint them! Only got until Feb 23rd.
Actually it's buff titanium. A very brief doodle this one. I mixed the black very thinly with Flow Improver and it actually all peeled off while I was attacking some of the other layers with various implements. Lesson learned I guess!
Been thinking about art for the kitchen. Why not? Here's a screen grab of my first take, in Illustrator. Anyway, I've been in all week doing job applications so I'm off for a walk on Hampstead Heath and then on to the London Art Fair this afternoon.
