After a break from this I've gone off the gold leaf taxi route idea [although you can still see a bit of it at the moment] and think I'll use the "knowledge" idea in another form later. The digital stuff has taken up more time than I'd hoped so it's nice to be painting again.

The brutal truth is there aren't enough hours in the day. I've created a separate business account for the Steve Wilde Prints Facebook page which I now need to spend time generating a following as big as my normal account on! And I still can't get why my account isn't eligible for tagging on Instagram either. Anyway I managed to take some screen breaks and make this. Mostly acrylic on canvas with a few charcoal and oil stick embellishments.
Other than promoting the thing I think the Shopify store has stopped dominating my time at last. Started this today. Left, acrylic base colours. Right, first layers of oil [base colours again], some gold leaf [not that you can tell from this shot] and textural scratches. This has to build up until the gold leaf is the thinnest of lines showing through a crack in the surface.
Finally got the Shopify store live. See the link, top right. I also have it linked to Facebook page and am trying to get it connected to Instagram, not so successfully. Consequently nothing else of any artistic merit has happened of late, unless you count decorating the hall.
