Been thinking about art for the kitchen. Why not? Here's a screen grab of my first take, in Illustrator. Anyway, I've been in all week doing job applications so I'm off for a walk on Hampstead Heath and then on to the London Art Fair this afternoon.
Taken delivery of 6 canvases [60cm x 80cm] in preparation for the Summer Exhibition this year and getting some things I DON'T want to do out of my system on some tiny canvases before I start on them. I can't do any worse than last year!
Don't seem to be achieving much so far this year. I've posted a couple of detail shots of this piece [14" x 14" acrylic on board] on Instagram but that's all I've been working on. Other than a couple of tiny acrylic doodles and some ideas in Illustrator for the shop. More of that later. Mostly I have been looking for some part-time work. Needs must!
My obsession with photographing walls started here. In New Orleans. I can't remember what year but I'm guessing about 1998. I uploaded this to flickr in 2004 [shot on an old Pentax SLR and scanned] and noticed it as I downloaded everything from there before closing my account.
Prompted by a suggestion to write an essay on the effects of photography on abstract art while I was studying graphic design my interest in abstract expressionism soon outweighed my interest in design and I started photographing walls with "artistic qualities".
Some [possibly] random postings to remind myself what I've been doing.
